Function Terms and Conditions
We can accommodate up to 50 people for your function and as it’s your space for the hour and a half, we do allow men or girls under 18 if you wish.
Booking Information Our studio is available for function bookings anytime that classes aren't running (please see our Timetable page). We are available during the weekdays, some weeknights (if we don't have classes), Fridays after 8pm, Saturdays after 1pm and Sunday afternoon. Functions are very popular so it's best to book ahead to ensure you get the time and day you prefer. If you would like to make a booking please call us at the studio to arrange a time and check availability. Once you have settled on a date and time we can hold a place without a deposit for ONE WEEK to give you the opportunity to confirm it with other guests. Once that time has past, we will require a deposit to secure your booking. The deposit required varies depending on the function you would like and the optional extra's but prices between $180 and $300 just to give you an idea. Please call the studio to discuss your requirements and receive a quote. Deposits can be made over the phone with a credit card or in person. If paying over the phone we will send out a receipt and confirmation letter to you. Failure to make a deposit within the ONE WEEK will cancel your booking and make your allocated time available to other customers. Balances can be paid on the night.
1.5 hour functions require a minimum of 10 people. If you have less than 10 people and would still like the 1.5 hour function, the minimum charge will have to be divided amongst your guests. One hour function require 6-10 people.
Other Charges We do allow people to watch if they would not like to participate. We allow one person to watch for free and any more are charged $10 per person. If you would like to book a function on a Sunday, there is an extra surcharge of $50.
Private Functions One of our dancers can come out to a venue of your choice to host a one hour function. This can be booked at any time that suits you. We are available to teach any of the styles we teach in our studio. If you would like to do pole dancing, there is a $50 pole hire fee per pole that you would like us to bring (max 2 poles). You will also need to make sure the pole can be secured to a stable ceiling with cross beams and allow about 2 metres around the pole. For strip tease or burlesque, it is recommended you have a few stable chairs to dance with. You will need to supply a CD player. Our dancer will supply the music. Bookings for private parties are taken in the same way as our functions. We can hold a place for a week and once you want to confirm that place, you will need to leave a deposit. The deposit will be $100 plus $50 per pole that you want us to bring. The balance will need to be paid to the dancer on the night. Please note, there may be an extra travel fee for bookings over 10km from our Kew studio.
Parking and Transport We have our own private parking on the side of our studio. There are 7 spaces available there. If that area is full, there is also street parking available right in front and a large carpark behind the Mercedes building. Public transport is easily available with tram and bus stops outside our building. See our contact page for tram numbers. If you're going out afterwards, you can also catch one tram which will take you to Fitzroy St or into Flinders St.
What to Wear Our pole dancing functions have been designed in a way that makes it not essential to wear short shorts. All pole dancing is of course much easier to do in shorts but we have structured our functions in a certain way as we understand most people go out afterwards, making it inconvenient to carry shorts around. We do have lockers if you want to leave items with us but they will need to be picked up the next day to allow space for other students and we do ask that you share lockers with as many friends as you can to save space. You will also be required to leave the key with reception in case it gets lost while you're out. You can wear heels if you like but it's not essential. Our functions are based more on ensuring you have fun rather than get a serious workout so if you don't have shorts or heels you can still participate. Please avoid wearing any lotion or oil on your hands and body prior to your function as it will cause you to slip off the pole. For safety reasons, we recommend you remove any dangling jewellery before your function. The receptionist is happy to look after your belongings for you if you need them too. We don't recommend you leave them on the floor while you dance because they will get lost.
Injuries and pregnancies If you have any current injuries that interfere with normal exercise or you may be pregnant, we require a certificate from your doctor or physiotherapist confirming you are able to participate in any of our classes/functions.
Cancellation Policy We require AT LEAST 4 weeks notice of any cancellations for any of our functions in order to receive a refund or transfer minus a $50 cancellation fee. With less than 4 weeks notice we are unable to offer a refund and can only transfer if there are spaces available. With less than 2 weeks notice we cannot offer transfers or refunds.
