Ready for an Adventure? Let us Celebrate what you can do whilst you learn to Empower yourself.
To provide state of the art pole dance facilities throughout Melbourne that are inviting & encouraging at all times. We believe that what we do changes women’s lives.
When you ask one of our members why they love Pole Princess so much they will tell you, “it’s like my second home”.
Pole Princess started in 2006 as the third business of its kind in Australia. Shortly after, we started our expansion project to bring our love of pole to more suburbs in Melbourne, making it more accessible to more people.
Beginners will start with Level One Pole or Hammocks. These 8-week courses are designed for first time clients regardless of fitness level, age or strength. We teach both spinning & static in the one course so you can learn a wide variety of tricks packed into five different routines over the duration of your course! You will also receive a video of all the tricks learned. Come and learn pole dancing in a self-paced environment where there are no tests or assessment and you can progress at your own pace.
After completing two courses at the beginner level (Level One and Two Pole/Hammocks), you will then be able to progress into the intermediate category of pole dance. These levels require a reasonable level of fitness & strength as we start to combine inverted tricks to stay up the pole for longer in our dance routines. Students starting with Pole Princess will feel a natural progression from level to level. If transferring from elsewhere, we can certainly help discover the best level according to your current skill.
The advanced levels will teach you how to defy gravity! Advanced courses start at Level Six Pole (Level Five Tissu) where you will learn complex moves that require amazing strength and flexibility. Our highest level, Level Seven Pole, rotates with brand new tricks every two terms so you can never know it all. You will also learn new routines in Level Seven every second term to ensure you can nail it before moving on. The best part about pole dancing is that it’s always a challenge and there’s always something new to learn.

We would recommend you start with our next 14-day kickstart intake. Our kickstart program gives you the best possible head start & is designed for absolute beginners. You will learn basic pole tricks and routines over 4 pole dancing classes within the 14-days. Our staff will tailor a personalized program for you depending on what your goals are which will include a minimum commitment of 3 classes per week for 2 weeks. You will also get bonus classes within the 14-days, a beginners welcome pack & studio tour! Contact your local studio for the next program intake.
For pole dancing classes we would recommend shorts, runners for the warm-up & heels for the rest of class. Heels are not mandatory but most people do find pole dancing easier in them (funnily enough!) so best to bring them with you just in case. Heels that strap around the ankle are best & the heel does not need to be super high. For aerial fabrics classes you need to be as covered up as possible to avoid material burn! Leggings and a t-shirt that fully covers your underarms is ideal along with runners for the warm up (the rest of the class will be bare foot). For all of our support classes that do not use the pole or silks, you can wear comfortable active wear.
The most important thing you need to know is that you’re going to fall in love and become addicted ;) Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so that we can get you settled in and get to know you. All classes must be booked in advance to ensure you have a space available. If you need help booking a class, please contact your local studio.
Definitely not! The whole point of pole dancing is that it makes you fit in your own time. You do not need to be fit already to start. You also do not need to have prior dance experience. Our instructors are highly trained individuals that can expertly break down every move and make sure you’re comfortable before moving to the next stage.
Classes sizes depend on the class type you’re doing. We guarantee one pole/hammock per person so you never have to share and get your full hours workout. Classes can range in size from 6-15 depending on location and class. High intensity workout classes run for 45 minutes where as pole dancing class and courses run for one hour at a time.
Pole dancing is like any other workout. If you’re only doing it once per week you’re not going to get amazing results fast. The best way to get better at pole dancing is to do it more often. That’s why we created the term pass options which give you unlimited access to classes every term for no extra fee. We would recommend a minimum of 3 sessions per week and this could be broken up in different ways. For example, you could do 3 pole dancing courses in a term, or break it up with one pole dancing course, one workout class and one recovery/stretch class. There’s many options available and we will work out what’s best for you with your first studio tour.
We recommend you book classes early as classes often get booked out due to our small class sizes. Courses & casual classes can be booked up to a month in advance. If a class is booked out, we would recommend adding yourself to the waitlist. When our waitlist fills up, we often add more classes. Students may also early cancel themselves out of classes in order to not be charged, freeing up space for others. If this happens, you will receive an email notification in order who joined the waitlist first and should you accept, you will be granted a spot in the class.
Yes we do! Direct debit is available for Term pass only which allow you to attend classes as often as you like for one weekly fee. We do not have direct debit options for singular services.
Absolutely! However your purchased services will only be valid at the location you purchased it from. services cannot be transferred between locations but you are welcome to do drop in classes or move completely if you find a location that better suits your needs.
Course purchases are only valid for the term you purchased them for. Session packs (including practice session packs) expiry dates extend further the larger the pack you buy, ranging from 16 weeks to 12 months. You can check specific expiry dates via our online store. When purchasing an 8-week course you will use this to book the same day & time for 8-weeks. Once the term has started, you will be granted access to take yourself out of individual days you can't make and rebook at another time into another class that is similar to your level or a casual class. Casual class packs however can only be used on casual classes. Practice sessions can only be used on practice sessions and private lesson packs can only be used on private lessons.
Pole Parties can be booked any time we don’t have classes running. We are available weekdays after 9.30pm, Friday, Saturday & Sundays at any time. Please contact your local studio to check availability. Please note: there is an extra $50 surcharge for Pole Parties booked after 9pm Mon-Sat and any time Sundays.
To book a Pole Party, just give the studio a call or send us an email with your preferred date and time. If the time is available, we can put it on hold for you for one week to allow you to confirm that it suits your guests. After one week has passed, if you’d like to secure the booking you can do so by paying the deposit over the phone or pop into the studio. Deposit amounts change dependent on which package you go for.
That’s no problem! This happens all the time. If you want to take advantage of all the activities with the 1.5 hour package with under 10 people, you can still make the booking. The booking will still need to be made for 10 people but you can divide that total costs amongst your guests.
We do not offer refunds for change of mind however, as long as you provide at least 6 hours notice for any casual class we can return your fee’s to your Pole Princess account to use at another time. If you miss a class in a course, you can arrange a 'make up' class yourself via your online account providing you have early cancelled out of the class you missed with more than 6 hours notice. Anything later than 6 hours notice is counted as a used class. All make up classes need to be scheduled within the same term otherwise they will expire.
Courses and classes require a minimum of 3 bookings to run. Courses are confirmed during the first week of term and can sometimes be left to the day it's scheduled to start just to allow for late bookers. You will receive a phone call, text or email if your course gets cancelled and will be given the option to move to another day & time or receive a full refund. Casual classes are confirmed by 4pm on the day Mon-Thurs. Classes running Fri-Sun are confirmed the night before usually by 9.30pm. We do not make phone calls for cancelled casual classes but instead recommend you download our free app and look at the schedule before heading in to the studio. We do notify people already booked in via email if a casual class has been cancelled providing you have opted in to receive notifications.
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way so don’t worry! You can early cancel yourself from any class via our free app (search Pole Princess in the app store), online via our website or you can give us a call & we'll do it for you. As long as you provide more than 6 hours notice before the class you're going to miss, you will be able to book into another class at any time within the same term. You can use a make up class on another course similar to yours, any level lower or even on any casual class so there's loads of options! Just make sure you book all your classes before the term ends and they expire.

You may have had a squizz at our timetable and wondered what all of our classes really mean. You probably took the easy route and started with a Level One Pole Course and slowly worked your way up – that’s what everyone else does so I reckon that’s what you do, right?
We say this all the time but pole dancing is like going to the gym. When you first take out a gym membership you will tell yourself you’re going to go at least 4 times a week, right? Or maybe every day if you’re super keen beans… And for the first few weeks at least you will stick to that goal. Before you know it, you’re able to run faster, walk further, lift heavier, whatever it may be. We all know this feeling. (more…)The Perfect Class Mix
Whether you’re brand new to pole dancing or a seasoned expert, knowing what level is right for you when trying out a new studio can be really confusing! Below you will find a description of all our 8-week courses with some universal tricks names so that you can match up your skills!
When transferring from another studio to Pole Princess, you will need to make contact with the studio if you’re trying to book into any course above Level One. Our courses are pre-requisited to make sure our students don’t accidentally enrol in a course that’s too high a skill set for them. A quick call or email will help us slot you into the right level so that you can then book online. (more…)Which Course is For Me
Pole dancing isn’t the taboo activity it used to be. The strength-training nature of it has gained attention among physical fitness experts. Some people even have poles installed in their home. Pole dancing works most of your body’s muscles while burning calories and building coordination. Talk to your doctor before beginning a pole dancing routine.
Any moves that require balance challenge your core muscles, making pole dancing ideal in this regard. Many of the exercises involve being upside down, which also works your abdominal muscles. Pole dancing moves also provide resistance to your stomach area, enhancing the benefits. Most choices are beneficial for your core, but spinners, chairs, floaters, inverts and ab pullups are good options. (more…)Pole Dancing Muscles
